Life skills and vocational training

Operating in a context of extreme gender inequality, poverty, and limited access to education, this programme provides a holistic solution that transforms lives and breaks cycles of exclusion.

Stage 1 - Basic Life Skills: Computers, Health & Hygiene, Business, Time Management, Rights and Relationships to name a few.

Stage 2 - Vocational Training & Certification: Hotel & Catering, Pre-School Teaching, Nurse Aid, Cutting & Designing, Interior Décor, Cosmetology.

Stage 3 - Work Experience: In the same industry as their vocational training.

Grassroots Partner: Rafiki Girls Centre

Based in Harare and open to students from across Zimbabwe, the programme selects participants based on an assessment of extreme vulnerability. It builds confidence and aspirations, improves employability, and helps reduce dependency on men.

Participants reported an average growth of:

164% in Self-Confidence 176% in Life Skills 201% in Financial Management

Over 1,800 beneficiaries supported since inception 85% of graduates are in work or pursuing further education 23% of of students are offered jobs by their placement host.
